OTTAWA-Minto Apartment Real Estate Investment Trust announced the publication its inaugural Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), report.
According to a Nov. 16 press release, the report provides insight into Minto’s ESG strategy and how it will guide its business.
Minto CEO Michael Waters stated that the ESG strategy was developed using the 40-plus year history of Minto Group and its commitment to sustainability. This report was developed with input from our stakeholders, and under the supervision of our board of trustees. It highlights the important role ESG plays in all we do, from how we treat our tenants and employees to doing the right things for our communities and the environment.
The ESG report follows the reporting standards of both the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). It contains 18 specific initiatives that have defined milestones or targets under three strategic pillars: community impact, business resilience, and environmental impact.
