It’s quite disturbing to see that a growing number of retail Apes spent Tuesday morning looking through what they thought was a fishy discrepancy in Fidelity’s platform regarding GameStop. Pro-GME Apes have spent 10 months trying keep short sellers away from GameStop shares. They even went so far as direct-registered their accounts and transferred them to Fidelity to keep them safe. Reddit low-key went wild with users speculating about whether the shares they attempted to DRS were being loaned out by Fidelity or that the brokerage was misleading or that some large hedge fund had covered the short position (which was difficult to buy considering that the stock is down more than 19% in five days).
