Cintas saw a 6.9% reduction in energy consumption and a 5.1% decrease in water consumption compared to fiscal year 2020. The company also saw a 7.8% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from FY20 numbers. In August 2021, Cintas created a new executive position to oversee the ESG strategy. Christy Nageleisen was promoted to Vice President of ESG, and Chief Compliance Officer. Her new Risk and Compliance Department will oversee and develop the company’s ESG activities and compliance. Cintas will continue to conduct an organizational review across the company through 2023. The results of this review will help Cintas create an integrated ESG strategy, and help identify meaningful goals and target areas. Nageleisen stated that there are many successful initiatives that help reduce our natural resource use, promote diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our value-chain; prioritize safety and health for our employee-partners; encourage corporate compliance and ethics interactions.
